County board openings promote citizen involvement in governmentSearching for a volunteer opportunity that allows you to help others while increasing your knowledge? Consider serving on a Weld County Advisory Board and Commission! Currently, eight boards and commissions have openings including: The Area Agency on Aging; Board of Public Health; Building Trades Advisory Committee; Extension Advisory Council; Workforce Development Board; Weld County Building Code Board of Appeals; Weld Faith Partnership Council; and the Child Protection Citizen Review Panel.

“We always welcome citizen involvement in county government, and one of the best ways to make a positive impact as a resident is by volunteering on our boards and commissions,” Weld County Chair Barbara Kirkmeyer said. “We greatly appreciate when residents offer their time and ideas to enhance the many services we provide.”

Don’t know everything about county government or a particular board or commission? That’s OK. While some boards and commissions are seeking residents with a specific background or experience in a field, each is looking for individuals who are passionate, excited to learn more about county government, and who want to contribute their time, talent, and ideas to ensure that government services continue to meet residents’ expectations.

These opportunities allow citizens a chance to work alongside each other and county staff to share ideas about how services can be strengthened to have the greatest benefit. Volunteering is a great way to enhance your knowledge of county government and become an advocate for the many programs and services that Weld County Government offers to residents.

Don’t wait to learn more and apply! An application and complete descriptions of each board and commission opening can be found by clicking here.
