WCRCC receives second re-accreditation

For the second time, the Weld County Regional Communications Center (WCRCC) has been named an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) by the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED). Re-accreditation occurs every three years; therefore, this is the center’s second re-accreditation term. The center has maintained the ACE status since 2013. The award reaffirms the diligent work of staff to provide top-notch response services to the public when they need it most.

“We’re extremely proud of our staff and this continued accreditation,” said Commissioner Chair Barbara Kirkmeyer. “Weld County is lucky to have this successful center and it’s due to the dedication and passion put in every day by our employees to help our residents during stressful and uncertain emergency situations.”

To be an ACE center, WCRCC must maintain high standards of 911 call-taking, emergency medical response, and ensure industry protocol is being met every month. If a center goes below a certain level of compliance, their accreditation may be pulled. WCRCC maintains a high level of compliance including top-notch customer service, quality assurance and knowledge of emergency medical procedures. The IAED was very impressed with the excellence of the center’s call-takers and quality assurance team and advised that WCRCC scored 100 percent on their reviews for re-accreditation; an achievement only a handful of centers in the world have accomplished to date.

“Our organization, from the line-level employee who takes 911 calls to our County Commissioners, are committed to providing our citizens the highest level of service possible,” Robert Olsen WCRCC Education and Quality Improvement Manager said. “Earning the distinction of being an ACE confirms that we are meeting this expectation.”

WCRCC is one agency out of 250 worldwide qualified to have the ACE designation. Considering there are 3,500 public safety communications centers around the globe, this accreditation is quite the feat to uphold.

“WCRCC’s clear objective to always provide a seamless 911 experience and knowing there’s always room for improvement, allows our center to continuously work diligently to maintain this level of preparedness for every medical emergency,” Olsen exclaimed.
