CCCAP updates benefit child care providers

Beginning this month, the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) will reimburse participating Weld County child care providers for an increased number of holidays and absences.

Effective March 1, 2019, CCCAP recipients who have a child or children placed with Weld County child care providers will see an increase in the number of annual holidays and monthly absences allowable by the federally-funded, state-run program. Weld County child care providers who care for children of families receiving CCCAP will now be reimbursed for six holidays annually – New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas (an increase from three holidays annually) – and four absences per month (an increase from only one absence per month).

“We value the partnerships we’ve established with Weld County child care providers accepting CCCAP families and are committed to supporting them with all available resources,” said Barbara Kirkmeyer, Weld County Chair. “That’s why we’re so pleased to announce this increase, which will benefit all providers who care for children of families receiving CCCAP funds – including both licensed and REACH (Realizing Economic Advancement through Caring Homes) providers.”

CCCAP provides financial assistance to eligible families who are working, searching for employment, in training or in an educational activity and need child care services to support their efforts to achieve and/or maintain self-sufficiency. CCCAP is administered in Weld County through the Department of Human Services (DHS).

Updates will continue to be posted on the Weld Child Care website, www.weldchildcare.com. For questions about the recent change, or for information on how to apply for CCCAP, contact the Weld County child care team at 970-400-6594 or email childcareprovider@weldgov.com.
