Freedom Parkway Public Meeting July 13 and 19

Representatives from the municipalities of Loveland, Johnstown, Milliken, Greeley, Evans, and Kersey, as well as Weld County, Larimer County, and CDOT (together known as the Freedom Parkway Coalition) would like to invite residents along Freedom Parkway (WCR 54/37th Street) to one of two informational meetings about a draft Access Control Plan under development. These meetings will be held on July 13, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at the Johnstown Town Hall, and on July 19, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at the Evans Community Complex. Both meetings are intended to give residents an opportunity to ensure that their accesses along this road are properly identified, as the Freedom Parkway Access Control Plan is just beginning to be drafted by the coalition.

An Access Control Plan is a strategic plan for evaluating accesses to a roadway to ensure maximum safety and efficiency. The Access Control Plan for the Freedom Parkway will have the primary goal of improving the safety of the corridor, with secondary goals of coordinating future improvements, promoting economic vitality, protecting public infrastructure, and maintaining the functional integrity of the roadway.

The Freedom Parkway Coalition envisions a regional, multi-modal transportation link between Kersey and Loveland, and a divided roadway with limited access to ensure the free flow of traffic. It is this coalition’s hope that landowners along the Freedom Parkway corridor will be able to better understand how their property will be impacted by future development and to be involved in the process of creating of the Freedom Parkway Access Control Plan.
