clerk and recorderCarly Koppes is twenty-eight years old and a home owner in Greeley, Colorado. Born and raised in Greeley, she is the oldest of three children and her parents are Joseph and Connie Koppes of Greeley. Carly has three horses that she enjoys spending time with, along with shooting targets, crafts, gardening, camping, and tuning up her 1976 Mustang Cobra II. 

She graduated from Greeley West High School in Greeley, and attended Aims Community College in Greeley, receiving her Liberal Arts degree, and attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado with emphasis in Political Science.

Carly is involved in the Greeley Republican Women, Women of Weld, Colorado Federation of Young Republicans holding the office of Vice-Chair at Large, along with the Northern Colorado Young Republicans holding the office of Secretary. She is also a third generation Greeley Stampede Wrangler, United Day of Action Weld County, Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, American Cancer Society Volunteer, a member of the Loveland Sweet Talkers Toastmasters club, and a Second Degree Black Belt with Mountain States International Black Belt Academy (American Kenpo). Carly was also Second runner up to Miss Rodeo Colorado 2009 and 2010, receiving the Horsemanship award, Spirit award and Miss Congeniality award.

Carly has been working in the Weld County Clerk and Recorders office for a decade starting in June of 2004. Her main department was the Election department, but she has also worked in the Recording and Motor Vehicle departments during her time working for the Clerk and Recorder office. She received her Colorado Election Official Certification from the Colorado Secretary of State in October 2007 and finished up her national designation of Certified Elections/Registration Administrators (CERA) through the Elections Center's Professional Education Program at Auburn University in July of 2014.
