Treasurer Tax Information

Property Tax Payment Information - Property tax notices are mailed before the end of January to the owner of record which is the name and mailing address listed on the Tax Roll at the time of the Assessor's certification. The Tax Roll is prepared and maintained by the County Assessor.

Senior Tax Deferral - Colorado residents 65 years of age or older may defer or postpone the payment of property taxes on their residence. 

Senior Property Tax Exemption - A property tax exemption is available to senior citizens who are 65 years of age or older on January 1 and who have owned and occupied the property as their primary residence for at least 10 consecutive years prior to January 1.

Special Assessment - A large portion of Special Assessments are for road and sewer improvements. These Special Assessments are often billed in installments of multiple years. In addition, there are Special Assessments for delinquent utility billings such as overdue water and sanitation bills, and overdue weed control bills, which are billed as one payment.
