WCR 49 Access Control Plan

49 ACP logoOn December 15, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners adopted the Weld County Road 49 Access Control Plan (ACP). You can find a copy of the plan on this webpage.

The goal of the ACP is to preserve the functional integrity (safety, capacity, and mobility) of WCR 49 in order to efficiently move people and goods along the corridor in the safest manner possible.

In order to achieve this goal, the county worked closely with residents, property owners, local government agencies and the business community to develop a detailed, long-range Access Control Plan for WCR 49. The plan evaluated traffic accidents, congestion, and sight distances and made recommendations for improvements, such as the intersection improvements at WCR 22 and WCR 44.

Some ACP objectives include:

  • Improve traffic flow
  • Reduce traffic conflicts
  • Improve traffic safety
  • Provide appropriate access to adjacent properties

The WCR 49 ACP encompasses WCR 49 from US Highway 34 south to I-76 in Hudson.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the open house events in 2012 and 2013!
