Prevention, people, and partnerships sum up the work of local public health. Public health is population-based, meaning it focuses on improving the health of the entire community rather than addressing individual health care needs.
The Health Department is organized into four service divisions: Administrative, Environmental Health, Health Communication, Education and Planning, and Public Health Services.
Together, we are working to make Weld County
a healthy place to live, learn, work and play.
In partnership with the communities we serve, Weld County Department of
Public Health and Environment preserves, promotes and protects the
health and environment of the residents of Weld County.
"Public health is the science and art of
preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the
organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations -
public and private, communities and individuals". Winslow, 1920
