Happy Air Quality Awareness Week! Did you know the average adult breathes in about 3,400 gallons of air every day? That air can contain pollutants that affect our health, like ozone and radon.

Know what is in the air you're breathing by checking the Air Quality Index for the Weld County area. AQI measures five major air pollutants: ground-level ozone, particle pollution (AKA particulate matter or dust), carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. Of those, ground-level ozone and airborne particles cause the greatest health effects, which can include but are not limited to eye, nose, and throat irritation; shortness of breath; coughing; and increased respiratory problems for those with lung conditions.
