Inspection of Facilities

Stationary sites (factories, gas compressor stations, fuel dispensing stations, dry-cleaners, electric generating plants, etc.) may be required to obtain permits to release air pollutants to the air. Permits may be issued that define the type of material that may be released to the air. The permit also lists the quantity of the pollutants that may be released. Permit holders are subject to unannounced inspections by the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. These are coordinated with the Air Quality Control Division of the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. Inspections are performed to determine if the permit holders are in compliance with the conditions defined in the permit.
