Vehicle Registration Renewals

Renewals may be mailed to our office located at
P.O. Box 459
Greeley, CO 80632.

Please allow up to four weeks processing time for a mail in renewal. When mailing in a renewal, please be sure to include the following:

1. Emissions test if necessary. (If needed it will be stated on the renewal card)
2. Proof of insurance if needed. (If needed it will be stated on the renewal card)
3. A signed check, made payable to "Weld County Clerk and Recorder" or "WCCR" for the amount stated on the renewal card. If a renewal card has been received, but the license plates were not renewed before the end of the grace period, the amount shown on the renewal card will no longer be valid. Please call the Motor Vehicle office at 970-304-6520 to obtain the correct amount before mailing in the renewal.
4. If you have received a renewal notice for a vehicle you no longer own, please disregard the renewal notice.
5. You may transfer plates from a vehicle you have sold or traded to a new vehicle you have purchased.
6. If you sold the vehicle and left the plates on the vehicle use form DR2283 to cancel the plates.
