Eight boards and commissions seeking residents

There may be no better time to volunteer on a Weld County Advisory Board or Commission! Currently, there are 13 openings across eight boards and commissions including the Extension Advisory Council, Noxious Weed Management Advisory Board, Workforce Development Board, Board of Adjustment, Planning Commission, Building Trades Advisory Committee, Weld County Building Code Board of Appeals and the Juvenile Community Review Board.

Weld County’s Advisory Boards and Commissions are designed to generate ideas from people with many different backgrounds and interests regarding the quality of county services, and each board and commission reflects the different needs people may have when using those services. By volunteering on an advisory board or commission, residents can learn more about the services available to them and work alongside county staff and others throughout the county to develop ideas on how services can be strengthened or promoted to have the greatest impact.

"We are a diverse county with a mixture of agricultural and urban lifestyles, so our advisory boards and commissions focus on many different areas,” Commissioner Chair Barbara Kirkmeyer said. “Regardless of the goal of an individual board or commission, each provides our residents with an opportunity to work with one another to generate ideas about how the services we provide can serve them best. It really gives our residents a chance to take a hands-on approach in strengthening our county.”

Take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about and positively contribute to Weld County Government by volunteering. More information about each opening and an application can be found by visiting Applications will be accepted through June 25.
