Weld County Employment Services exceeds goals in serving job-seekersIn a recent state review, Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC) was shown to lead the state in the provision of services to individuals with barriers to employment.

Each year, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) monitors ESWC participant data, program expenditures, processes and procedures to ensure compliance, effectiveness and accountability. During their most recent review, the CDLE monitoring team consistently found ESWC case records to be complete and well-maintained throughout the 2017 monitoring cycle. ESWC staff was lauded for their commitment to providing quality services to businesses and job-seekers throughout the community, while simultaneously adjusting to shifts in policy, data-tracking and performance metrics.

“The strong partnerships we’ve established with partner programs and the community are key to our level of service delivery,” said ESWC Division Head Tami Grant. “And to deliver those services, I’m so fortunate to have staff who consistently work to put the best interests of Weld County job-seekers first and foremost.”

CDLE recognized ESWC for their hard work in maintaining good customer service, while also reporting accurate data entry in relation to providing quality services. CDLE formally recognized staff efforts to serve priority populations and indicated ESWC processes and procedures should be shared statewide.

Selected data from the 2017 report include:

• Zero compliance issues

• 249 adults served (114.75% of goal)

• 136 dislocated workers served (94.44% of goal)

• 218 youth served (110.10% of goal)

• 30% increase in child care assistance

• 10,115 Wagner-Peyser job-seekers served

• 118 co-enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

• Leading outreach in state for Migrant Seasonal Farm Workers (MSFW)

• 95% of clients served with barriers to employment
Included in the CDLE review were the Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth programs of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and Wagner-Peyser, Trade Adjustment Act (TAA), Sector National Emergency Grant (NEG), Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessments (RESEA) programs.
