The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment's laboratory supports community health by providing high-quality medical and water quality services in northern Colorado.

Medical Testing
The laboratory is Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certified and provides Tuberculosis (TB) and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing for the Public Health Services Division and other regional facilities. 
Water Quality Testing

The laboratory provides microbiology and chemistry analyses for drinking water and wastewater. The laboratory is certified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for drinking water and supports the Water Quality Control Division (WQCD) in implementing federal and state water quality control programs. 

The laboratory provides water quality testing services for private wells, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and public water systems. Other water sources may be tested, please contact the laboratory for more information.

For services, fees, and sampling instructions, refer to the Chain of Custody (COC) Form or contact the laboratory.

The laboratory also provides a free Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) screen for Weld County Residents whose main source of drinking water is well water and have water quality concerns related to oil and gas activity. Weld County residents may have their well tested every six months at no charge. To participate in the free program, a Notice of Public Disclosure Form must be completed.
