COVID-19 Zip Code Map

COVID-19 cases are being reported by zip code to include individuals residing in unincorporated Weld County. This is a more accurate representation of Weld cases since the county spans such a large geographic region. Some zip codes encompass several small towns and unincorporated parts of Weld County. Displaying the data in this manner can protect towns from the stigma of a high case count when in fact the cases may be spread over a wider geographic area.  Data on this map is retrieved from Colorado's Electronic Reporting System (CEDRS), and typically updates between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The map is divided into four health assessment regions within Weld County: North, Southwest, Southeast, and Greeley/Evans/Garden City. Three areas — North, Southwest, and Southeast — roughly correspond to the political boundaries of the county commissioners. The fourth area corresponds to the municipality boundaries of Greeley, Evans, and Garden City as of 2020. Some zip codes span multiple regions. Noticeably, the Greeley/Evans/Garden City region has far more cases than the other three regions. This can be attributed to the fact that the region accounts for about one-third of Weld County's total population.

Click on a zip code bar to highlight the area of the county covered by that zip code on the map to the right. From there you can see in which of the four health survey regions that zip code is located.  Geographic case counts by region may not equal the total number of reported cases on other dashboards due to missing location information in the state database. These will be corrected as soon as possible.
