Employment Services Workshops
Employment Services of Weld County is offering a series of weekly workshops designed to focus on issues that are important to job seekers. The goal of these workshops is to assist job seekers to enter/re-enter the workforce, or to improve their current employment situations.
All workshops are offered in-person:

Pave the Way to Your Next Job - Monday's 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
This job-search overview gives you keys to your job search that can help you land your dream job: know your skills and value; focus on a clear job destination; know where and how to look for work; do the paperwork well; research the job and the company; prepare and do well at interviews; and know how to follow up on all contacts.
Keys to Interview Success - Tuesdays' 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Interviews test our knowledge of how we can meet the employer's needs. Come and prepare to present yourself excellently in an interview; know your skills, training and other tools; research the requirements and preferences of the job and the company; practice answering employers' questions and prompts; prepare questions for the employers; knock the interview out of the park!; follow up after the interview; and stay positive throughout the process. Do a mock interview with a classmate and/or instructor.
Resume Writing, Part 1: Workshop - Tuesday's 1:00 PM to 3:30PM
Creating a job-winning resume and cover letter are vital skills for everyone in the job market today. In this workshop we will learn what makes a good resume and what makes a great one. We will discuss what employers expect from a resume and how to sell yourself effectively to prospective employers by discussing: the application process; master application and resume; applicant tracking systems and targeted resumes; the combination resume; references; cover letters; and employment cards. These tools can help create the success of your job search.
Resume Writing, Part 2: Lab - Wednesday's 8:15 AM to 11:45 AM and 12:45 PM to 4:15 PM
After completing Resume Writing Workshop, job seekers may sign up for Resume Lab. This lab-style workshop allows the job-seeker to apply their knowledge of resume creation. Job seekers will create an up-to-date resume on a computer with instructor guidance.
Prerequisite: Resume Writing Workshop.
50+ You're Hired! Workshop Series - Thursday's 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Networking lands jobs, and we'll help you do it! Receive encouragement, learn new strategies for job searching. This workshop series meets once a week for five weeks.

KSAs: Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes Workshop - Thursday's 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Learn the most important characteristics that make you a desirable employee: extensive knowledge and the ability to learn more; excellent skills, including in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving; and a positive attitude and flexibility. Additionally, learn how to sell your skills to potential employers, including in a resume and during interviews.
HOPE (Helping Offenders Pursue Employment) Workshop - Friday's 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
We provide important tools so that individuals with criminal backgrounds can find meaningful employment while explaining a troubled past. We discuss: the overall job search; background checks; your redemption story; explaining your background; a positive attitude; non-verbal communication; and help for people with a background.
