Food Safety Education and Training

Weld STAR (Sanitation Training Assistance for Restaurateurs) covers the basic principles of food safety. It is geared toward those who work in the food service industry, child care centers, and anyone interested in learning more about serving food safely to the public or large groups. Topics include cross-contamination prevention, temperature controls, personal hygiene practices, and cleaning and sanitation techniques.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Food Handler's card.

Private trainings also may be scheduled at your business establishment with a minimum of 20 participants and training facilities that will support our presentation and activities.

Certified Food Protection Manager Requirement

At least one person affiliated with the facility with manager or supervisor responsibilities must demonstrate that they are able to actively manage the food safety risks by being a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) (Chapter 2: 2-102.12, 2-102.20 of the Colorado Retail Food Establishments Rules and Regulations).  Some exceptions may apply.  A list of approved courses can be found in the tab below..
