Where to Get a COVID-19 Vaccine

Who can get a COVID-19 vaccine?

All Coloradans age 5 and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine. For more details about vaccination for children ages 5-17, go to the CDC's COVID-19 Vaccines for Children and Teens webpage. For children ages 5-11, full scale distribution of the pediatric Pfizer vaccine is underway, so current supply may be limited.

All Coloradans age 18 and older are eligible to receive the Moderna or Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine.

COVID-19 booster shots  also are available to eligible individuals who would like one. You should get a booster dose if you:

  • Are 18 or older and received your second dose of Pfizer or Moderna at least 6 months ago

  • Received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for your initial dose

Because COVID-19 is spreading quickly throughout the state, Colorado is a high-risk place to live and work. Anyone who is 18 or older who would like a booster and is due for one should make a plan to get one.

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may prefer the same vaccine they originally received and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC’s recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots.

CDPHE's Chief Medical Officer on November 9 reiterated his call for all eligible Coloradans age 18 to get a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose, citing the significant wave of disease spread Colorado is currently experiencing. He also clarifies that the latest public health order from CDPHE prevents any vaccine administrator from turning away eligible 18 year olds who want to get the booster.

We encourage you to speak with your health care provider if you have questions about boosters. For more details about booster shot recommendations, go to CDPHE's booster shot webpage or the CDC’s booster shot webpage.
